Playing Away a Rainy Day in Petitskirts

So, it’s been rainy here, a lot.  And let’s just say that while kids might go a little nutso when they’re cooped up during the day, mom isn’t too thrilled about the rainy days either.  In fact, I’m beginning to wonder if bribing the weather man is in order.  Or if grandma wants to take a turn at making sure her babysitting skills are up to date.

One of the days, my daughter was going crazy, wanting to do something girly and play pretend.  I invited her to a tea party, but she decided that she wanted to be the princess and I would be her mother, the Queen.  So far, so good.

She went to her closet and got out a number of girls skirts and even went through her baby clothes to find just the right dress.  Pink and purple were the favorites, of course.  She found an old Halloween costume that worked out well, but then we had to find her some magic slippers.

These silver ballet flats are her favorite!

She’d found my makeup and was the spitting image of a princess – well, a princess with bright red lips, cheeks, and a red nose for good measure.
