The Rainbow Connection

It was an ordinary day like any other.  Driving home from the grocery store, the last hour had been consumed by milk, a dozen eggs, and the long discussion on which cereal tastes best and provides the most nutritional value (the answer is NOT Super Frosted Sugar Toasty Bombs).  And as you are driving home after a brief little rain shower – the leftover mist still lingers slightly – you and your little ones notice a rainbow in the sky. And what a gorgeous rainbow it was!  This mood-altering gift of nature suddenly transformed the mundane task of grocery shopping and driving home during rush hour into a thing of beauty.

You arrived at your place, in glorious spirits, and since that afternoon you and your kids call that the rainbow day.  Back home and dried into warm baby clothes, the chatter resumes, “Remember the rainbow day?  Wasn’t it THE BEST?!”  Thanks to artist David Dear you can relieve the rainbow day again and again.  All you need is a generous dose of sunlight and his Solar Rainbow Maker.  This ingenious toy uses a genuine Swarovski crystal which attaches to your window with a suction cup and refracts sunlight to create a room filled with your own personal dancing rainbows.

Now every sunny day can be filled with even more beauty, color, and light with the Solar Rainbow Maker.  What is this special connection we all feel to rainbows?  Is it the promise of new things, the eternal “What if”?  What is this connection?  To quote Kermit the Frog, “Someday we’ll find it, the Rainbow Connection. The lovers, the dreamers and me…”
