Unique Baby Gifts; Estella’s Cashmere Crotchet Flower Blanket

November 10, 2008

Estella’s Cashmere Crotchet Flower Blanket is truly a piece of art rather than just another baby blanket. In conjunction with Citta, Estella has created a collection of unique hand-knit baby blankets and baby hats. The artisans behind the one-of-a-kind items are women living in the poverty stricken rural regions of Gorkha, Nepal who, most of the time, are the primary source of income for their families. The women’s center, known as “Ashaghar” (House of Hope), employs and train these women to knit, embroider and crochet in hopes of teaching skills that allow them to provide for their families.

This beautiful heirloom-quality blanket makes a great baby gift and can be treasured long after they’re grown.
