Just In: Spring & Summer Hartford Kids Shirts & Blouses

Spring & Summer Hartford kids shirts and blouses are here!

Newly in at the Estella shop and on our website, Hartford makes basics with a twist, and does it well. Born in New York City, the French label combines European flair in its prints and details with a classic American vibe in its cuts. Pieces like buttondown shirts in distinctive Liberty of London prints, and luxurious linen blouses with sweet details like ruffle shoulders, grace the label’s spring/summer collection.

When he founded Hartford in 1979, Yves Chareton wanted to recreate 1950s-style vintage shirts like those he found in flea markets throughout Paris in the 1960s. Chareton’s vintage-inspired line was an instant success, with famous fans like Bruce Springsteen ordering madras and oxford shirts by the dozen. Within a few years, Chareton developed an entire men’s collection.

Styish but never trendy, Chareton’s priority has always been cut, proportion, and color, with a twist of the unexpected. Hartford takes basic, classic pieces and reinvents them into fresh and new creations. The extension from men’s to children’s wear, which happened around 2001, was natural, given Hartford’s rising popularity. Hartford’s children’s line echoes the adult line with vintage-inspired pieces that are meant to look faded, classic cuts, and eye-popping bright colors.
